Unshaken Prayers for an Unleashed Next

Philippians 4:6-8 (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.


This week our text provides profound guidance on prayer and our thought life. In these verses, Paul encourages us not to be anxious but to bring everything to God in prayer. This means that we should approach God with our concerns, needs, and desires, but we should do so with an attitude of thanksgiving. When we pray in this way, we are promised the peace of God, which is beyond human understanding, to guard our hearts and minds.


We are encouraged to dwell on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. This is crucial because our thoughts can greatly affect our emotional and spiritual well-being. By focusing on these positive and godly attributes, we align our minds with God’s truth and goodness.

In this teaching, Bishop Anthony L Jinwright shares with us specific targets we must hit when praying:


  1. We must pray with unshaken faith. 

    This gets Gods attention and causes angels to go to work on our behalf. Not only pray, but ask with unshaken faith. We must remember the scripture, Daniel 11:32, that states, The people who KNOW their God will be strong and do great exploits. 


    Ask BIG from God!  We have not because we ask not.  To get to our next, we must remain alert, consistent, faithful and obedient to the direction of the Holy Spirit.


Mark 11:24 (NIV)

24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.


  1. We must pray with unshaken endurance.

    The ability to persevere in prayer through hardship and adversity without wavering or giving up is required on our journey to our next. A resolute dedication to your unleashed next takes the limits off God.


How does the endurance happen?  When we start praying bold, unshaken prayers. You must get in agreement with God, and boldly proclaim, "God I trust you, no matter what."


John 15:7-9 (NIV)

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.


We cannot pray, weak, wavering, watered down and non committal prayers.  God responds to unshaken prayers.


  1. We must pray with unshaken expectations.

    He heard you!  It may have been a long time, but He heard you the first time.  After asking BIG, we must expect BIG! Proclaim boldly, God I’ll trust you even when I can’t trace you.


Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Are you holding up your next?  Are you ready for your next? 


God responds to our faith, and not our fears.
